National Center for Missing & Exploited Children

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) is a non-profit organization in the United States that works to prevent child abduction and exploitation, and to help find and reunite missing children with their families. The NCMEC was established in 1984 as a private, non-governmental organization, and it receives funding from a variety of sources, including the United States Congress, corporate sponsors, and private donors. The NCMEC provides a range of services and resources to help prevent and respond to child abduction and exploitation, including a 24-hour hotline for reporting cases of missing and exploited children, a national database of missing children, and training and technical assistance for law enforcement agencies and other organizations.
