The global South refers to the developing countries of the world, which are often contrasted with the developed countries of the global North. The global South is a diverse group of countries that encompasses much of the Southern Hemisphere, including Africa, Latin America, and parts of Asia and the Middle East. The global South is characterized by lower levels of economic development and industrialization, as well as a lower standard of living, compared to the global North. The global South also tends to be more vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, natural disasters, and other global challenges. Many countries in the global South are working to improve their economies and living standards and to reduce their dependence on foreign aid and assistance.
