Criminal Investigation

Criminal investigation is the process of identifying, collecting, and analyzing evidence in order to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding a criminal offense. It involves the systematic and scientific examination of evidence to identify the suspects, gather evidence against them, and establish the facts of the case. Criminal investigations can be conducted by law enforcement agencies at the local, state, or federal level, depending on the nature and jurisdiction of the crime. The goal of a criminal investigation is to identify and bring to justice those who have committed crimes, while also protecting the rights of the accused. To conduct a criminal investigation, investigators may use various methods, including interviews, surveillance, searches, and forensic analysis.
