Ghislaine Maxwell ‘dropped by lawyers after not paying bills’
Ghislaine Maxwell's lawyers have dropped the jailed socialite as a client after alleging she failed to pay her bills, it was reported last night.
Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence in Florida after being convicted of child sex trafficking on behalf of her former boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein.
She had employed the law firm Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer in the US Virgin Islands, where she had sued the Epstein estate — alleging the disgraced financier had promised to pay her legal fees before his 2019 suicide.
In a legal filing obtained by the Daily Mail, the lawyers said Maxwell had failed to pay their fees despite “repeated requests”, resulting in an “unreasonable financial burden”.
