A 20th Anniversary Reflection from Love146’s Co-founder, Rob Morris

Anniversaries are occasions when you mark a significant moment of the past. A birth. A wedding. A job. A historic event. A death. A tragedy. Depending on the moment marked by the anniversary, it can bring joy and celebration, or possibly heartbreak and sadness.

The kinds of anniversaries that bring heartbreak are sometimes marked by some form of remembrance. A memorial. A ceremony. A gathering. And the kinds of anniversaries that bring joy are often marked by some form of celebration. A dinner. A toast. A gift.

For , our 20th anniversary brings both heartbreak and joy.

We remember the girl we encountered 20 years ago identified only by the number 146. We remember the look in her eyes, and how that moment propelled us to take action. We recognize the harshness of a world where children are still being trafficked and exploited.

But we also celebrate. Over the past two decades, Love146 and supporters, including you, have journeyed with courageous young people in the fight to end trafficking.

20 years ago, very few people knew about this problem – or even believed us when we talked about it. Maybe you've experienced that in conversations about this issue. But today, thanks to your advocacy, there's a growing recognition that this is one of the defining human rights issues of our time – we refuse to accept that is just a part of life.

20 years ago, we were a group of 4 friends trying to make a difference. Today, we have over 80 staff on three continents providing prevention education and survivor care services to children. You've been a part of making this happen. Together, we've helped over 70,000 children around the world. Thank you!

We invite you to remember. Remember her. Remember how far we have come. Remember children we have yet to reach. And we invite you to celebrate by making a difference in a child's life.

Would you mark this occasion and celebrate with us by making a special gift for Love146's 20th Anniversary Click here to give now.

Working together, we can see a generation from trafficking.
