'Must do better' – Fashion Transparency Index – Ecotextile News

Fashion Transparency IndexLONDON – Brands and retailers have been urged to further increase transparency to tackle the climate crisis and social inequality, in the latest Fashion Transparency Index from the Fashion Revolution initiative.

Fashion companies scored an average of just 24 per cent – only one per cent up on last year – with one in three scoring less than 10 per cent in the seventh annual assessment of 250 of the world's largest brands and retailers.

Some 85 per cent of brands did not disclose their annual production volumes, despite concern about over production and waste, and 96 per cent did not reveal the number of supply chain workers paid a living wage.
