Rebecca Bender is CEO of the Rebecca Bender Initiative and Founder of Elevate Academy. Rebecca is a leader, advocate and consultant who equips individuals and organizations to identify and fight human trafficking in their own backyards. She was appointed to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, regularly testifies as an expert witness in court, and has trained over 100,000 professionals, including FBI. The Rebecca Bender Initiative is committed to changing the way Americans see and respond to human trafficking in their communities and empowering the survivors.

Sadly, children are sexually exploited in Texas every day. They are forced to engage in sexual activity, often for the financial gain of their abuser.

The Child Team (CSTT) in the Office of the Governor is fighting to end this crime and to help its young victims.

Our mission is to build sustainable capacity, enhance expertise, promote policies, and create new and leverage existing collaborations to:

Texas' Child Sex Trafficking Team has implemented a number of statewide initiatives to help bring an end to the horrendous practice of child sexual exploitation, but we still have much work to do.
